Contest Prize: The Game, Part 1

Although she didn't know it at the time, the events leading to Lufluerette DiMargaux's first experience with the Vaselliano Game of Houses began about a week ago with two clumsy thieves in the city of Barcolo.   One of them called himself Nero.  He didn't know who he was working for, or why the job mattered.  He didn't ask questions.  Trouble came to those who knew too much.  The other was a housemaid named Isabella, out on her regular midnight raid on the pantry.  Passing through the parlor on the way back to her quarters with a loaf of bread and some sausages, she noticed a stra

The Girl Who Heard Colors

Christy never thought of herself as a normal girl, even though she had normal interests, a normal appearance, and lived with a normal family. What was completely different about her was that she could see colors whenever she read or heard sounds. For example, when she heard a bell, she saw silver, and when a dog barked, she saw red. This was because Christy had synesthesia, which meant her senses were completely mixed up. Christy believed that her synesthesia was something that made her completely different than anyone else she knew. While normal people saw colors, heard sounds, or tasted flavors, synesthetes like Christy experienced something so much more. Christy’s world was filled with a brightness that came from all directions. But it didn’t stop at seeing colors whenever she heard sounds. She also heard sounds when she saw certain shapes, saw light coming from people who walked by, felt music like it was a beating heart, and saw temperatures. It had always been like this. She

Not exactly a wishing well 2. Run, run away

Roger woke up in the school nurse’s office. Noah was sitting in a waiting chair a short distance away from him, with his head hung low in shame. As Roger’s eyes adjusted to the bright and florescent light, the images of a few worried faces came into focus. Roger’s mothers looked him over speculatively, trying to see all of the damage. A question was sent from Noah's mother: "So, another kid did this?" she asked. The sound came as if through a distorted filter as consciousness flooded back into Roger. The group looked down to him. "Roger! Baby, are you alright?" his mother leaned down to him, kissing him softly on the forehead. "Did someone do this to you?" Noah's mother filled in, "did someone hurt you?" Not replying immediately, Roger looked at Noah, who obviously hadn’t said much about the incident. It was 'policy' for the two friends to keep the scuffles to themselves. There was a time when they brought the bullying up to the faculty and it managed to intensify the situation

Circle in the Sand Part One- CG:LD One-Shot

Hi Everyone, Here is the first part of the latest and last one shot for Code Geass: Liar's Dice as me and Makarov move onto starting the main series itself. Which rounds off the final prequel chapters on Akira and Nathan that grew from a simple one shot of showing the two's day and night out in summer of 94, to a novella that in many ways sets up their arc and gives hints of their background, relationship and more that has been a real joy to set up and work with @RingoPerkov, @ResonantCrimson and Makarov in writing about them, along with the one shot that was Melancholy Dynasty. Along with Let's Dance Part one Sweets for my Sweet Let's Dance Part Two Sugar For My Honey and Dark Shine. Part Two of this chapter is available to read here. Thanks very much as always for following my work and I hope you enjoy the chapter Kind Regards I will release the second half in a few days. In the dimly lit cavern of "Inclusion," a sanctuary of a club in Aberdeen, Nathan and Akira

Anarchy: An Ace Attorney Fan Theory

You know... When I look at the legal system at a different angle, I start to notice something awfully strange. Is anyone above the legal systems and court system, as well as governments in the Ace Attorney world? Should any attorney fill in the shoes of any court case, regardless of social status or stigma? Or do Judges hand down fair verdicts or cases handled effectively? With the right justice placed down on the right wrongdoer? The answer to all these questions is that no one is. There isn't. This is because the legal system in the games and so on, has no superiority or any super national entity. It's basically an all-out anarchy. Anarch

WRITING ADVICE Feel Feeling Feels

Pop quiz, rhetorical substitute for the reader; why do you think feelings are called "feelings"? I dunno. Why? Because you feel them. Yeah, I kinda figured. No - I mean you physically feel them. How did you feel the last time you were upset? Upset. Ha-ha. You know what I mean. ...Sick? Like I ate bad food, or something. Good. How about angry. Hot. I wanted to break something. Someone. Where was the heat? Mostly in my neck and face. Ever hear about someone going red when they got angry? Or seen a picture or drawing of it? Yeah, of course I have-wait, that's what the hot feeling is? Yep. Blame it on a rush of blood to the head. N

A Quiet Stream

In a world full of noise, A world full of war, A world full of screaming, fighting, and shouting, Sometimes the greatest wisdom can be found In a peaceful, quiet place. One of these places Can be a gentle stream. If you listen closely, The clamor of everyday life Will disappear completely. For among the sound of the trickling water, You can hear your soul Whispering gently to you. And if you look closely, You will see, A beautiful reflection of yourself Upon the rippling water. If there's a raft on the water, Get on it, And let the gentle stream carry you along. It will make you feel easy and comfortable. Whether the rive

The scariest experience in my life

I was assaulted eight times, successfully. I avoided another four or so attempts. All of them were at daylight, so I find it funny when people fear going out at night more than during the day. None of them weren't the scariest experience, specially the time one of the thieves gave me my shoes back because his were newer. Idiot, those shoes were so worn because of how good they were.    Some months ago, I was run over by a car near my house. It was very, very light for a running over, I went up right after, talked to the driver, he took me to the clinic. In the end, only bruises and muscle pains. The x-rays and examinations showed that t
